A local man was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly entering a car wash and committing a theft in the town of Canandaigua.

Joseph Hobbs, 27, described by police as homeless, was taken into custody by Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies at 11:31 a.m. He is accused of trespassing into the Auto Wash located at 3150 County Road 10 earlier that day and committing petit larceny.

Hobbs was charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is awaiting arraignment in Central Magistrate Court. Authorities have not specified the stolen items or their value.
