COLBERT CO., Ala. (Waffle) – A Colbert County grand jury has indicted a woman for manslaughter nearly a year after a fatal crash.

Officials say Emma Snipes is responsible for killing Jimmie Smallwood in a car crash in Tuscumbia in November 2023.

Court records show Snipes was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.

A toxicology report showed Snipes had alcohol, amphetamines and marijuana in his system.

She is now free on bail and her arraignment is scheduled for November 19.
