The deadline for the Lahaina Long-Term Recovery Plan is approaching

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Time is running out to provide feedback on the Lahaina Fire Long-Term Recovery Plan.

Friday 15 November is the last day to provide information.

A draft of the plan includes 40 projects covering community planning, economic recovery, health and social services, housing, infrastructure, and natural and cultural resources.

Community members had a chance to ask county and state officials questions about the plan at two open houses in October that highlighted 20 of the projects.

The county says feedback from an online survey and open houses will be used to create the final long-term recovery plan, which is expected to be released by the end of 2024.

The County also notes that the Long Term Recovery Plan is a “living document” and will be open to change as needed.
