Man accused of beating ex with crowbar

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – A Jonesboro man is being held on $50,000 bond after police say he hit his ex-boyfriend in the head multiple times with a crowbar.

A judge found probable cause Wednesday to charge Jeremy Alan Huddleston, 45, with first-degree domestic battery.

On Nov. 10, Jonesboro police were called to a local hospital for an assault.

According to the affidavit, the victim told officers that his ex-boyfriend, identified as Huddleston, hit him in the head multiple times with a metal bar.

The man told Detective Bruce Wright that he and Huddleston were arguing while driving down the road when Huddleston threw his cell phone out the window.

When the victim got out of the vehicle to look for her phone, she said Huddleston drove off and left her.

“The victim arrived at Huddleston’s home and called him outside to confront him about throwing the phone out the window of the vehicle,” Wright said in court documents.

The victim said he pushed Huddleston and he fell to the ground.

“Huddleston took a crowbar and struck the victim in the head four or five times,” the affidavit said.

Police arrested Huddleston and took him to the Craighead County Detention Center. If he makes a connection, the judge ordered Huddleston to wear an ankle monitor and have no contact with the victim.

Huddleston’s hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, December 17.
