Stronger storms are possible during the evening overnight

(WALA) – Most of our area is in a level 1 marginal risk of severe weather tonight. Our counties in Mississippi are at a slight risk of Level 2. This is due to a front that will move through rain and storms in the evening. There is a risk of severe weather with these storms, which includes heavy rain, strong winds and a very low risk of tornadoes. The time of any possible severe weather is between 7pm and 3am

The cold front should clear the area early Thursday morning. Cooler, drier and clearer conditions will filter in behind the front. Highs will be in the mid 70s.

Friday and the weekend look fantastic. Lows will be in the 50s and highs will be in the mid to upper 70s. Skies will be sunny, humidity will be low and no rain over the weekend.

The tropics aren’t over yet. The National Hurricane Center has begun issuing advisories for potential tropical cyclone 19 in the Caribbean. The system had winds of 30 mph and was moving west at 6 mph. The system is expected to remain essentially stationary through the weekend. Models suggest this system will eventually work its way into the Gulf and southwest Florida by the middle of next week. Stay tuned.
