A motorcyclist died Tuesday afternoon in a crash in Neosho County

PARSONS, Kan. (WIBW) – A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon from injuries sustained in a crash in Neosho County in southeast Kansas, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday on US-59, about 6 miles north of Parsons.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2014 Victory motorcycle was southbound on US-59 and was passing another southbound vehicle when the rider lost control of the bike as it re-entered the southbound lane.

The rider, who was ejected from the motorcycle on impact, came to rest in the southbound ditch as the motorcycle came to rest on the south shoulder of the freeway.

The rider, Brandon M. Eastwood, 42, of Pittsburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol said Eastwood was wearing eye protection but was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
