Coldplay add biggest date ever to Ahmedabad in India

COLDPLAY: hotter than ever

Due to fan demand, the British rock band Coldplay announced a fourth show in India “Music of the Spheres” world tour. The band will perform at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 25 January 2025 to a potential audience of 100,000 fans, making it the biggest stadium show of their career. The multi-Grammy Award winning band is already confirmed to play in Mumbai, India on January 18th, 19th and 21st.

Tickets will go on sale on November 16, 2024 at noon IST exclusively on online ticketing platform Bookmyshow, the sister company of the tour’s Indian promoter BookMyShow Live.

The tour began in 2022 and has sold 12 million tickets across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, making it the best-attended tour by a group of all time. The tour also travels to Abu Dhabi, Seoul and Hong Kong between January and April 2025.

ASIA PACIFIC AWARDS

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards announced three award winners ahead of its main ceremony. of Georgia Date Chachua was named Best New Artist for “Panopticon.” US-based Japanese director Neo Sister is the recipient of the APSA Young Cinema Award in partnership with NETPAC for “Happyend”. And Nepali director Min Bahadur BhamHis “Shambhala” is the winner of the Cultural Diversity Award.

The three special awards celebrate cinematic excellence, support emerging practitioners and promote the promotion and protection of cultural diversity. Winners will be inducted into the Asia Pacific Screen Academy, the network that brings together directors from Asia Pacific. They will also become the first members of the Top 51 World Filmmakers Club when it launches in 2025.

The 17th APSA ceremony will take place on November 30 at The Langham, Gold Coast, Australia.

“Happyend” (Japan-USA) is nominated for Best Picture at the APSA, with Neo Sora also nominated for Best Screenplay. “Happyend” premiered in the Orizzonti competition from alien festival before being presented at Toronto.

Set in a polyandrous village in the Himalayas, “Shambhala” sees pregnant Pema put under scrutiny when her husband disappears. Together with her monk brother-in-law, her de facto husband, she searches for her husband in the wilderness, revealing her own self-discovery along the way. Min Bahadur Bham will be participating in two Asia Pacific Screen Forum events, the Cultural Preservation Through Film panel and the Connect: The Human Side of Coproduction seminar on November 29. The film has the backing of producers from Nepal, France, Norway, Hong Kong, Turkey, Taiwan, USA and Qatar.
