“The government’s response to the defendant’s motion is due on November 15, 2024,” U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian said today. “Defendant’s response is due on November 20, 2024,” he added in the one-page order. “A hearing on defendant’s motion will be held on November 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in Courtroom 15A of the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Courthouse, 500 Pearl Street, New York, New York.”

Having been at two previous bond hearings on Sept. 17 and 18 before Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky and U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter, Combs, 55, will appear for the latest session in just over a week.

The result of a Nov. 8 motion filed by the defense led by Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, this latest effort to set bail for Combs goes a little extra to appease the judge.

In addition to the $50 million bail, house arrest in Miami or NYC, security lockout, no internet, and more that the defense has unsuccessfully offered before, this new get out of jail move seeks to address the court’s concerns which Combs might try. to intimidate potential witnesses through his staff. “Under the proposed updated bail conditions, Mr. Combs would not have access to ’employees and friends and the like’ and would not ‘talk to those employees,'” the latest bail motion document states, using some of Mr. Combs’ own words to Judge Subramanian. .

“For the foregoing reasons and in order to ensure a fair trial and to protect Mr. Combs’ constitutional rights, the Court should order his release on the proposed conditions or on such other conditions as the Court deems appropriate,” the 27 of pages.

Arrested on September 16 in the lobby of a New York hotel, the much accused and much sued “All About the Benjamins” performer was charged with racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. Pleading not guilty and immediately placed behind bars on pretrial detention, the rapper could spend the rest of his life in federal prison if convicted.

Combs’ trial is currently scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025, as Judge Subramanian announced last month. Since then, as the civil lawsuits against the one-time mogul have piled up, there has been more testimony in this criminal case before the grand jury. More charges or a superseding indictment could be coming, law enforcement sources say.

Combs and his defense team were defeated last week when Judge Subramanian denied them Motion for gag order on witnesses and others iboth in his criminal record and in the dozens of civil cases against him. “With regard to the growing civil cases against Combs, there are additional steps he can take, including seeking relief in particular cases if the parties or their attorneys have made damaging statements to the media, or staying those cases pending resolution this cause. one, just to give two examples,” the judge wrote on November 8. “However, the unprecedented relief Combs seeks on this motion is unwarranted.”
