Man convicted in Henderson DUI crash that killed mother, two children

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The man charged in a DUI crash that killed a mother and her two sons has been sentenced.

Darryl Smith, 36, was sentenced Tuesday to 16 to 40 years, with about 6 months credit for time served.

The crash happened near Lake Mead Parkway and Grand Cadence Drive in Henderson on Jan. 7. Rebecca Post, 38, and her five- and six-year-old sons Leo Post-Quintanilla and Achilles Quintanilla they died in the accident.

A police report said Smith admitted to drinking and taking cough syrup before the crash.
