Man arrested on WSU campus, accused of rape

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita State University police arrested a man on campus Monday on rape charges. According to online booking sheets from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, Mohamed Ma was arrested and charged with aggravated rape and sodomy.

12 News reached out to Wichita State to find out if Ma was a student or employee of the university and to gather more details about the incident.

WSU Director of the Office of Strategic Communications Lainie Mazzullo-Hart said the university cannot comment on ongoing investigations and that there is no threat to the WSU community.

“… the safety of our students, staff and faculty is always a top priority of the university,” Mazzullo-Hart said. “We understand that any report of possible sexual assault can be distressing and difficult to process. There are many resources for the campus community.”
