Dundee man threatened person with scissors and tried to choke her: State police say felony charges filed

New York State Police arrested a Dundee man on multiple felony charges following a domestic dispute Monday afternoon in the village of Dundee. Authorities responded to a call on Main Street at approximately 2:21 p.m. where they say the suspect allegedly threatened and attempted to harm the victim.

According to investigators, 40-year-old Michael Hoke allegedly wielded a pair of scissors to threaten the victim before removing his shirt and attempting to strangle her.

Hoke was taken into custody and processed at the state police station in Dundee. He faces charges including criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree due to a prior conviction (felony D), unlawful imprisonment in the 1st degree (felony E), criminal contempt in the 1st degree (felony E), as well as menacing in the degree II and criminal obstruction of breathing, both misdemeanors.

After arraignment, Hoke was transported to the Yates County Jail to be arraigned in Central Court (CAP).
