A woman from Whitley Co. faces drug trafficking charges

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A woman faces multiple charges after the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office was called to a complaint in a business parking lot.

The complaint to the London–Laurel County 911 Communications Center reported that a woman was passed out in a vehicle there. When deputies arrived at the scene they found Lissa Bryant, 44, of Williamsburg, and noted that she appeared to be passed out with the engine running and her foot on the accelerator with the engine revving.

Deputies also found a glass pipe, gabapentin and two clear baggies containing a clear crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Once deputies were able to rouse Bryant, they determined she was under the influence and wanted on outstanding warrants.

She is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence (2nd Offense), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (2nd Offense, Methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (1st Offense) and Substance prescription drugs that are not in the proper container (first offense).

She was taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
