MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Four people, including a mobile police officer, were taken to local hospitals after an involved traffic accident this morning.

The accident took place on Bulevardul Guvernului.

Around 11:35 a.m., the officer was responding to a nearby incident in which a pursuit of a crime-fighting subject leading officers on a pursuit had ended a short time earlier, according to the Mobile Police Department. While en route, the officer’s patrol vehicle was involved in an accident with two other vehicles in the 4100 block of Government Boulevard.

Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
