Diddy reportedly out for third stabbing on bail, citing ‘thin’ case by prosecutors

DiddyHis lawyers are not giving up their attempts to get him out on bail before his 2025 trial.

The jailed music mogul recently argued that in light of new evidence and a renewed bail package, he should be released from the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center.

Diddy’s legal representatives have pointed out that he cannot prepare effectively for his upcoming trial in the detention center, statements echoed in the past. However, two federal judges rejected the rapper’s bail bids.

According to the document obtained from the Bad Boy Records founder’s team, his lawyers filed another bail application on November 8. In the filing, Diddy’s lawyers argued for his immediate release based on new evidence that showed the government had a “thin” case.

They based their claims on a March 2016 video referenced in the rapper’s indictment. Footage reportedly captured Diddy violently assaulting a woman in a Los Angeles hotel. However, his legal representatives argued:

“The video is not evidence of forced ‘craziness,’ but rather a few minutes’ glimpse into a complex but decade-long consensual relationship between Mr. Combs and Victim 1.”

Diddy’s indictment focused on these “crazies,” which prosecutors alleged saw women forced or coerced into participating with male sex workers. But the bail application obtained by The Blast claimed the opposite happened with alleged victim 1.

According to Diddy’s lawyers, the first mention of any sex trafficking or unwanted sexual contact involving alleged victim 1 was in November 2023. However, this allegation came five years after the couple split in 2018.

“The evidence shows that these allegations were merely attempts to obtain financial gain from Mr. Combs,” his representatives claimed. Diddy’s lawyers also argued that MDC Brooklyn was not an appropriate detention center for the rapper.

“Keeping Mr. Combs detained under the extraordinary circumstances here would unconstitutionally leave him ‘handicapped in consulting counsel, seeking evidence and witnesses, and preparing (his) defense,'” they argue.

Aside from their consensual relationship and the detention center’s weak arguments, Diddy’s lawyers tried to argue for bail with a “much stronger” proposal. They offered house arrest with round-the-clock security monitoring and “almost total restrictions” on outside contacts.

The entertainer’s team claimed the updated proposal “exceeds the bail package recently requested by the government in a comparable case in a neighboring district”.

They believed their offer would “reasonably ensure the appearance of (Mr Combs) as necessary and the safety of any other person and the community”.

Diddy’s team initially proposed a $50 million bail package with strict conditions, but his offer was refused. explosion reported that his legal representatives struggled back against denying his bail, noting that their offer eliminated prosecutors’ concerns about the risk of flight or witness tampering.

Lawyers for the record producer have argued that he poses no risk of leaving the country and criticized prosecutors’ arguments about possible witness tampering if he is released. Diddy even argued for banning all female visitors except family to ease their worries.

In his desperate attempts to sway the court, Diddy offered to sell his private jets and even submit to weekly drug tests as part of his bail conditions. Unfortunately, the judges sided with the prosecutors and deemed him too dangerous to be released.

As stated, Diddy’s downfall began in September after his arrest and indictment on three criminal charges. He was taken into custody at the Park Hyatt hotel in Midtown Manhattan six months later his homes in Miami and Los Angeles were searched.

Since his arrest, Diddy has maintained his innocence and denied all charges against him. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, echoed similar sentiments, describing his client as “an innocent man with nothing to hide.”

While Diddy remains behind bars, his efforts to sell his Beverly Hills Mansion have failed due to his ongoing legal drama. explosion shared that the luxury property did not attract buyers due to an “ick factor”.

Sources with inside knowledge claimed that “only a few” potential buyers have checked out the house or shown interest in the property. A married couple reportedly visited the mansion but the woman was “creepy” and couldn’t wait to leave.

Another reason the home failed to attract buyers was that it was one of the homes raided by Homeland Security earlier this year amid investigations into Diddy’s sex-trafficking case. In addition, the price of $61.5 million was too high for interested parties.
