Murder suspect’s accessory to new bail application

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) – A suspect charged as an accessory to murder has filed a new bail application after his initial one was denied.

Kendall Mims was charged by the Pendleton Police Department with accessory after the fact, obstruction of justice and misdemeanor criminal trespass in October after 20-year-old Jessica Barnes was found strangled in Pickens County and her husband , Brandon Barnes, was charged with her murder.

An arrest warrant said Mims and her roommate Victoria Tippett helped Brandon get rid of Jessica’s body.

A judge refused to bind all three suspects in October, but online records show Mims is now asking a circuit judge to reconsider that decision.

Mims’ defense filed a new bail application Nov. 6, and a hearing is set for early December.

Mims is the only suspect in the case who has filed a new bail application.
