South Carolina couple leads high-speed drug chase, window shades, Coweta County deputies say

A South Carolina couple was arrested after a high-speed chase in Coweta County after deputies say they had 8 pounds of drugs in their SUV.

It all started when Coweta County deputies say they pulled over a driver for a window tint violation on I-85. They say they would later learn that the SUV allegedly contained four kilograms of methamphetamine and four kilograms of cocaine.

Kinya Mishoe, 48, seemed to be laughing at first.

“I know I didn’t speed,” he said with a laugh.

“No, you were not speeding,” the deputy replied.

“I know I wasn’t speeding. I saw you. I saw you. I saw you,” Mishoe said, continuing to laugh.

While one deputy was taking his license, another deputy kept talking to the driver’s side window, and things got serious. Video of the incident shows Mishoe speeding away from the traffic stop.

“During the pursuit, the suspect began driving recklessly, nearly hitting several cars, weaving in and out of traffic,” Cpl. Chris Ricketson said.

Road debris struck and shattered the deputy’s windshield. However, the deputy was able to continue the pursuit with several PIT maneuver attempts.

After the pursuit left the highway, the deputy entered the SUV in an attempt to catch the driver who had already opened his door to drive away.

Deputies said Mishoe was still able to run from the vehicle with a backpack. After a short chase, they arrested him.

In the backpack, deputies say they found four kilograms of methamphetamine and four kilograms of cocaine.

Mishoe faces a variety of trafficking charges, as well as trafficking in cocaine and methamphetamine, according to deputies. They said they charged his passenger, Laura Bell, 40, with drug possession. Both are from South Carolina.
