A man was seen stopping his car in the middle of a busy road and then brandishing a gun when confronted in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur on Friday, and a video of the incident has surfaced online. The incident has raised serious questions about the law and order situation in the state as it took place just 50 meters from a police station.

In the video, a man dressed in a blue shirt is seen stopping his car in the middle of a busy street to buy flowers. As traffic piled up behind him, frustrated commuters honked their horns continuously.

When a bystander objected to the interruption, another man with a gun came out with a gun in his hand and threatened to shoot.

The problem escalated when the man started abusing other people in the area.

The confrontation led to a complete gridlock in traffic as vehicles came to a halt.

The incident took place in an area where the Model Code of Conduct is currently in force. Despite being approached by the Nazirabad police station, the incident went unchecked.

The Kanpur police issued a statement confirming that the incident took place on the night of November 8, 2024.

According to preliminary investigations, a verbal altercation took place between two parties for moving the car. “The matter is under investigation. Further legal action will be taken once a formal complaint is lodged,” a police spokesman said.
