    BELMONT, Bronx (WABC) — A promise to remember a young crime victim who was on her way to becoming a police officer was honored today.

    Members of the NYPD released balloons for Lesandro “Junior” Guzman.

    six years ago Guzman was killed by a group of gang members at a bodega in the Bronxin what appeared to be a case of mistaken identity.

    Guzman was a member of the NYPD’s Explorer program.
