One of the busiest streets in the Carletonville CBD became a crime scene last weekend.

According to eyewitnesses, the deceased, a 36-year-old citizen of Lesotho, was relaxing in a tavern on Flint Street. At 18:40 he received a call and moved to a quieter space.

A few minutes after he went outside, other people inside the tavern heard gunshots.

Upon closer investigation, they found him outside on the street. He suffered four gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

Carletonville police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
