HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after a couple was found dead Saturday at a west Harris County complex, according to authorities.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check around 4 p.m. at 19770 Clay Road.

Deputies believe the incident happened Friday around 8 p.m.

Authorities say the man and woman were from Cuba and had been married for nine years and lived separately. They were identified as a 48-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, according to HCSO.

Investigators say the husband shot his wife based on the placement of the gun, which he then turned on himself.

Investigators believe it may have been a murder-suicide.
