The complaint stated that he was harassed at a hotel in Bengaluru in December 2012. The case, registered by the Kasaba police in Kozhikode, was handed over to the Bengaluru Airport police.

Kasaba police filed a case sexual assault case against director Ranjith, ffollowing a complaint by a youth in Kozhikode. This case is in addition to the previous allegations made by a Bengali actress.

The FIR alleged that Ranjith sexually assaulted the youth in a hotel room, with charges including unnatural sex offences. According to the complaint, the youngster first met Ranjith in 2012 on the sets of ‘Bavuttiyude Namathil’ when he was a plus-2 student. The complaint states that Ranjith later invited her to a five-star hotel in Bengaluru, promising a role, where the attack allegedly took place.

The youth reported the incident at the Kasaba police station in Kozhikode and mentioned that he had informed a prominent actress about the attack on the same day but received no response.

Earlier, a Bengali actress had also accused Ranjith of sexual assault, leading to his resignation as president of the Kerala Chalachitra Academy.
