FEMA employee allegedly told Hurricane Milton relief team to skip homes with Trump signs in Florida

(CNN) – The Federal Emergency Management Agency says one of its employees advised its disaster relief team to avoid homes with signs supporting President-elect Donald Trump.

It happened in Florida after Hurricane Milton.

A FEMA spokesman said in a statement that the agency is “deeply disturbed by the actions of this employee” and the incident is under investigation.

The agency did not identify the employee but said she has been removed from her position.

The spokesperson says FEMA has deployed a new team to knock on the doors of people who were not previously contacted because of this incident.
