“As (officers) approached the semi truck, they were spotted by the subjects, who got into their van and fled the location,” the statement said.

Police chased the fleeing van, which drove on the wrong side of traffic at times, until it stopped in the area of ​​Osbourne and Agate roads, officials said. All seven men inside the van ran in different directions.

With the help of a Barstow Police K-9 and a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department helicopter, all seven suspects were apprehended during a search of the area.

The suspects, who were all described as Los Angeles residents, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, grand theft and conspiracy to commit burglary, police said.

The driver was also charged with recklessly eluding police
