Oshkosh police are investigating after an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg Saturday morning

OSHKOSH – An 18-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in the leg Saturday morning.

Oshkosh Police Department said in a news release, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Central Street around 4:30 a.m. Nov. 9 for a report of shots fired.

Responding officers found the 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to the leg. The teenager was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, but police said investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police department at 920-236-5700, Winnebago County Crime Stoppers at 920-231-8477 or use the P3 app or winnebagocrimestoppers.org to send a tip. Police said a tip leading to an arrest could lead to a cash reward.

Saturday morning’s shooting comes a little more than a week after no one was injured a shooting in the 800 block of Oregon Street on the night of November 1st. In that incident, police determined there was an argument between a group of people in a vehicle and a pedestrian. During this discussion, the pedestrian began firing a gun into the vehicle. That vehicle was not hit, but an unrelated occupied vehicle was.
