Estimated over 500,000 ballots still uncounted in Arizona: ‘Elections don’t end on Election Day’

Election Day has long passed, but Arizonans and Americans across the nation are still awaiting results from the Grand Canyon State, including the outcome of the closely watched U.S. Senate race pitting Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego against the Trump-backed Republican. Lake Kari.

While election day was tuesday, the outcome of the senate and presidential race in the state of arizona remained unclear as of Saturday.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes for comment on why it’s taking so long to count 2024 ballots in the state and when he expects the counting process to be completed.

Deputy Communications Director JP Martin responded via email: “Historically, Arizona has taken 10-13 days to count results. The secretary reminded the public of this fact even before the election took place. Your premise is incorrect.”

“Accurate election results take time,” Fontes noted in a post on X. “Signature verification is the process of comparing the signature on the voter’s ballot envelope with the information in the database. The ballot is then separated to keep the identity of the voter secret and sent for tabulation.”

Lake asked people to volunteer to help “heal” the ballots.

“I cannot stress enough how important ballot healing is. Every vote will count in this election, so we need to make sure every vote counts. We have until Sunday to cure the ballots. I urge you to get involved. if you haven’t,” Lake tweeted.

Lake’s post links to Turning Point Action.

Tyler Bowyer, the group’s chief operating officer, told Fox News Digital that the group is “hustling” to make sure ballots are cured in Arizona.

Maricopa County Elections explained: “Clearing is the process of resolving any issues with your signature. from the green envelope of the early voting affidavit. Because your newsletter vote to be tabulated, we must have a verified signature every election cycle. There is a small window of time to cure signature problems.”
