Gone are the days when watching Nigel Twiston-Davies surf the Racing Post website was like watching a man knitting soup. Now he’s fully internet savvy and even has an app or two at his disposal, thanks in part to his new friend Siri.

It seems that Nigel’s son Willy, a 29-year-old assistant trainer and youth recruit at Grange Hill Farm, has brought his father up to speed with the 21st century, although in the office this morning it’s easy to feel that technology modern. it is not used as productively as it could be.

“Siri, text my dad, please,” says Willy.
