A new e-rail trailer at Midland law enforcement

MIDLAND, Mich. (WNEM) – A new tool to help Midland County law enforcement in situations involving animals. The Midland County Sheriff’s Office has released its new e-rail trailer.

The trailer will be used by county animal control to transport tools when dealing with accidents with animals, such as if they are caught in a fire or stuck inside a trailer.

“A lot of different types of equipment,” Midland County Deputy Animal Control Todd Pointe said. “There are gate panels that you can install to contain animals that you may need to remove from an overturned trailer. There are different types of equipment that you can move different types of animals, pigs that you move differently than cows and etc.”

The program was sponsored by the Michigan State University Extension Program and the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
