What a former member of the Secret Service says about Palm Beach security for Trump

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — WPTV reported what security changes will take place in Palm Beach County following the election of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States.

Following the arrest of Zigie Li, a California man who Palm Beach police say broke into Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home on Friday, WPTV wants to know what security measures law enforcement will take to keep him safe on Trump during his second term. as president.

Former Secret Service member Timothy Miller, who was active during presidencies in the 1990s and 2000s, explained to WPTV why he believes Trump is entering an even more dangerous environment than when he took office in 2016.

“We’re dealing with state-sponsored assassination plots, and this is a sea change in how the Secret Service protects everyone it protects,” Miller said.

Trump has survived two assassination attempts this year, one in Palm Beach County, and the Justice Department announced Friday it will indict three people in an Iranian assassination plot against the president-elect.

According to Miller, the Secret Service will monitor social media, go after known criminals and increase patrols whenever Trump leaves the White House.

Those visiting Palm Beach can expect to see an abundance of security in the future, such as Richard Steele, who was visiting from Houston, Texas, this week.

“I was expecting security, but this is a lot,” Steele said.

The Palm Beach Police Department, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Secret Service will meet later this month to discuss all the security measures that will need to be put in place after he is inaugurated into office.
