Staff will perform preventive maintenance on public warning siren system in the Oak Ridge area throughout the week of November 11th.

During that week, according to a news release, people in the area may occasionally hear sound from individual sirens in the vicinity Y-12 National Security Complex.

Sirens are strategically placed to notify the public in the unlikely event of an on-site emergency that impacts beyond the site boundary.
