ANC in Mumbai nabs four in major heroin bust and continues crackdown

In a significant operation, the Kandivali unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested four persons involved in drug peddling. The arrests took place in Malad and Malvani areas, leading to the seizure of 594 grams of heroin, with an international market value of around Rs 2.37 crore, police officials confirmed on Friday.

Among those arrested are two residents of Uttar Pradesh and two from Uttarakhand, indicating a network that stretches across state borders. Police are actively pursuing leads to identify who the intended recipients of the drugs were in Mumbai and are further unraveling the complex distribution network behind this supply chain.

Demonstrating a strong offensive against narcotics, the ANC seized 3,010 kilograms of illegal drugs in the last ten months, valued at 55 million lei internationally. This effort resulted in the registration of 68 cases and the arrest of 146 persons related to drug trafficking activities. (YEAR)
