Ithaca Community Justice and Policing Center to host ‘Friendsgiving’ healing event.

The Ithaca Police Department and the Community Justice Center are partnering for a “Community Healing” Friendsgiving event on Thursday, November 14, with the goal of fostering dialogue across community divides and enhancing local public safety.

Hosted at Calvary Baptist Church, the gathering will provide a space for residents and police to engage in open discussion, share meals and address challenging topics such as building trust and healing from past experiences.

The event is free, but advance online registration is required. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share for the potluck-style dinner.

Registration is available at cityofithaca.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1161with over a dozen residents already signed up. This event marks the fifth in a series of Community Healing Conversations held in Tompkins County this year.
