Physical Intelligence’s $400 million raise

Physical intelligence, an emerging startup basic models and learning algorithms for robotsraised a $400 million funding round this week that included OpenAI and Amazon (AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos as investors, CNBC reported. The funding round valued the startup at $2.4 billion.

Thrive Capital, Sequoia Capital, Khosla Ventures and Lux ​​Capital are listed as the startup’s other investors. Its March seed round was reportedly $70 million and valued the startup at $400 million.

Over the past eight months, Physical Intelligence says it has developed a general-purpose robot foundation model called pi-zero this is “a first step toward our long-term goal of developing artificial physical intelligence so that users can simply ask robots to perform any task they want, just as they can ask large language models (LLMs) and chatbot assistants”.

AI startup Human and data analytics software platform Palantir Technologies (PLTR) announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services this week to provide Anthropic’s Claude AI models to US intelligence and defense agencies.

The Claude 3 and 3.5 family of models will be accessible on the AWS platform, allowing US agencies to use Palantir products powered by Claude “to support government operations such as rapidly processing large amounts of complex data, augmenting data-driven intelligence, identifying patterns and trends more effectively, simplifying document review and preparation, and helping US officials make more informed decisions in time-sensitive situations while maintaining their authorities decisions,” said Palantir.

AI startup Thesys this week announced a $4 million seed round led by Together Fund. The startup has developed a “visual collaboration tool” which helps companies “design, visualize and deliver” user interfaces for AI agents.

Static interfaces simply do not meet the demands of today’s AI skills,” said Parikshit Deshmukh, co-founder of Thesys. a statement. “At Thesys, we build tools that make it possible for businesses to adapt and thrive in this new era. This evolution isn’t just about functionality, it’s about unlocking the full potential of AI-based interactions and delivering unparalleled user experiences.”

It seems that Saudi Arabia is planning a AI Hub worth up to $100 billion. The state-backed project, dubbed “Project Transcendence,” involves investments in data centers, startups and other AI infrastructure, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter. The effort reportedly includes recruiting AI talent and encouraging tech companies to develop and put resources into Saudi Arabia.

Audio and video collaboration platform Pibox announced $1.2 million in funding this week to launch its ad tools. The startup has listed Presto Ventures, Globalive Capital and Startup Wise Guys as investors.

Pibox has also received funding from Google for startups (GOOGLE), which will help the startup add AI-based features to its tools.

“We’re committed to building the best place for collaboration and content management for teams working at a high professional level with audio and video,” Pibox co-founder and CEO Ivan Talaichuk said in a statement. “I set out to solve my own problem because I hate switching between multiple apps to work on my creative content. It was blowing my mind, so I decided to connect it all in one place.”
