The hearing on the plea of Colorado funeral home owners was delayed by the snowstorm

DENVER (AP) — Colorado funeral home owners accused of hiding 190 decomposing bodies and giving grieving families fake ashes were scheduled to plead guilty Friday, but the hearing was postponed because of a snowstorm.

Jon and Carie Hallford have been charged with more than 200 counts of abuse of corpses. Prosecutors say the owners of Return to Nature Funeral Home began storing bodies in a building outside Colorado Springs as early as 2019.

They also claim that the couple gave the families dry concrete instead of fireplaces.

Over the years, the Hallfords have spent lavishly, buying luxury cars and laser-sculpting bodywork. It ended when the bodies were discovered last year.

The hearing has not yet been rescheduled
