NJ man convicted of sexually assaulting two minors for nearly 9 years

A 72-year-old man convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting two minor victims over nearly a decade was sentenced Thursday to 27 years in New Jersey state prison, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

A jury found Henry Parker, of Pennsauken, guilty of multiple counts of child sexual abuse in June. During his trial, his victims testified that he molested them at their home from October 2009 until January 2018, when they reported his misconduct to the police.

Parker was convicted of two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault; five counts of second-degree sexual assault; four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child; five counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual intercourse; and one count of employing or soliciting prostitution of a minor.

He was acquitted of three counts of child endangerment. Three additional counts in his indictment led to a hung jury.

Aggravated sexual assault in the first degree applies to serious sex crimes and is a charge that can lead to life in prison and fines of up to $200,000.

The first 24 years of Parker’s total prison sentence will be subject to New Jersey’s no-parole law, which prohibits defendants from being released before serving at least 85 percent of their total prison sentence.
