Three Texas people hospitalized after I-70 tractor-trailer crash, one seriously injured

One person was seriously injured and two others were injured in a single tractor-trailer accident on I-70 Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia was traveling east on I-70 near the 102 mile marker.

Footage shows the semi truck was driving near a work zone when it went from the travel lane to the passing lane and slid off the left side of the roadway.

The driver overcorrected while turning onto the road and overturned, going off the left side, where he hit a median and came to rest, blocking both lanes of westbound I-70.

The truck’s trailer hitch was disconnected during the incident and came to rest on its side, blocking the eastbound lanes of I-70.

The driver, a 41-year-old woman, was seriously injured in the crash, while a 2-year-old boy passenger was moderately injured and another 43-year-old male adult suffered only minor injuries. All three occupants inside the vehicle were noted to be from Little Elm, Texas.

All occupants inside the tractor were transported to University Hospital by Cooper County EMS.

MSHP noted that no one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.
