Parkersburg man pleads guilty to federal drug charge

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – A Parkersburg man pleaded guilty Thursday to possession with intent to deliver quantities of a controlled substance.

On April 8, 2024, law enforcement officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by David Eric West II, 42, near Parkersburg.

Officers found methamphetamines and fentanyl in the vehicle.

Officers also found a Taurus G3C 9mm handgun on West’s person.

West admitted to possessing the controlled substances and intending to distribute them in and around the Southern District of West Virginia.

West faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a minimum of three years of supervised release and a $1,000,000 fine.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 3, 2025.
