Trial date set for man accused of killing teenage girl in CVS parking lot in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – A court date has been set for the man accused of killing a teenage girl in the CVS parking lot in Cape Girardeau earlier this year.

According to online court records, the jury trial for Tre’marion Jones is set to begin on January 7, 2025.

Jones is charged with first-degree murder and other charges after police say he shot and killed 17-year-old KeMari Childress in February.

Jones has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

The court scheduled the trial for Monday during Jones’ most recent appearance. The trial is expected to last four days.
