KENOSHA, Wis. (WFRV) – A large police presence was seen at an elementary school in southeast Wisconsin after officers were alerted to a suspicious person in the building, who authorities are actively searching for at this time.

A post on Facebook from the Kenosha Police Department (KPD) states that at approximately 10:15 on the morning of November 7th, there was a large police presence at Roosevelt Elementary School due to reports of a suspicious person at the school.

Officers say they are working with the Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) to make sure all campuses are safe. It was noted that the suspect is no longer on school property and authorities are currently searching for him.

The retired Manitowoc County lieutenant has been formally indicted on one count of official misconduct

“We understand that these incidents often cause fear and concern. Please know that KUSD and KPD have worked together for many years to deal with situations like this. We are actively seeking to identify the individual depicted in the (supplied) photo,” Kenosha PD’s Facebook post read.
