Five teenagers have laid charges after two men were stabbed in West Bromwich

The teenagers were charged after being arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery following a disorderly incident on a West Bromwich Road.

The incident happened on Kesteven Road on Sunday and saw the two men receive stab wounds which were not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers from West Midlands Police He later arrested five teenagers, three 16-year-olds, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old, on suspicion of assault and robbery and then charged them with the same offences.

Odin Borthwick-Melia, 18, of Clifton Avenue in Walsall, appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Tuesday alongside the other teenagers, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We have charged five teenagers after disturbances in Kesteven Road, West Bromwich, on Sunday (November 17).

“Two men received stab wounds which were not believed to be life-threatening.

“A short time later, we arrested five teenagers suspected of assault and robbery.

“The five teenagers – three 16-year-olds, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old – have all been charged with assault and robbery.

“All five have been remanded to appear at Walsall Crown Court today.”
