Players not listed have a value of one.

Injured reserve players who would otherwise merit trade consideration

Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans

Isiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

Marquise Brown, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

Allen Lazard, WR, New York Jets

Not on IR, but an uncertain injury timeline makes their trade value murky

Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys

TJ Hockenson, TE, Minnesota Vikings

Jonathan Brooks, RB, Carolina Panthers

Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

He’s trending in a solid direction and is the best real player in football, but you still shouldn’t trade him given a smooth fantasy season.

Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs

What to make of CeeDee Lamb’s fantasy value following Dak Prescott’s injury?

In five games with the Cooper Rush starter in 2022, Lamb caught 31 passes on 49 targets for 380 yards and two touchdowns. On a per-game basis, that translates to 6.2 catches on 9.8 targets for 76 yards and 0.4 touchdowns. Extrapolated to a 17-game season, you’re looking at 105 catches for 1,292 yards and six touchdowns.

Live and semi-live from behind a car….Dak Prescott will miss several weeks with a hamstring injury. Big NFL news, but as far as fantasy goes, I’m not so sure it changes things that much*
(*assuming Cooper Rush starts) pic.twitter.com/WQUpUTlybC

It is a good production! (Although derived from a very small sample size.) But they’re not the kind of elite numbers Lamb posted last season (135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns) or on par with the pace at which he was this year (which would currently put him at 112 catches for 1,402 yards and eight touchdowns in 17 games).

Also note that in 2022 the Cowboys rushed for 135.2 yards per game, ninth in the NFL. These Cowboys lack that kind of balance on offense and currently rank 31st in the NFL in rushing (82 yards per game). It will be much easier for a defense to focus on covering Lamb and pressuring Rush than it was two seasons ago.

Now, it’s possible that Prescott will only miss a few games and Lamb will return to his regularly scheduled dominance as the playoff weeks begin. But given the uncertainty surrounding both Prescott’s timeline and Lamb’s shoulder injury — and Prescott’s situation, in particular, doesn’t look good — such projections are murky.

Lamb will still be a solid option for fantasy players, but probably more of a WR2. This may open up opportunities to buy low given the potential panic over Prescott’s injury, though there are enough risks present that you shouldn’t pay top-of-the-market prices.

If you have Lamb, though, you probably need to hold on. No one is going to overpay for him right now, and you don’t want to give away a player for pennies on the dollar when he can still serve as a solid starter for you. This probably isn’t as bleak an outcome for Lamb as Tua Tagovailoa’s injury was for Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, for example, but some drop in production should be expected.
