Isle of Palms Police will highlight year-to-date crime statistics

ISLE OF PALMS, SC (WCSC) – Community members, especially business owners, on the Isle of Palms are set to take a look at crime over the past year at a meeting Thursday afternoon.

The Isle of Palms Police Department is hosting its annual series of community meetings to break down crime data from the previous year and detail prevention efforts.

Thursday’s meeting is the second of three. These gatherings are focused on showing people which crimes have increased this year, as well as which have decreased.

Police say DUI charges rose from 86 in 2023 to 103 in 2024. There was also an increase in crimes like resisting arrest and assaulting officers.

That meeting will be held at 3 p.m. at the Isle of Palms Public Safety Building, located at 30 JC Long Boulevard.
