IRON MOUNTAIN — A 40-year-old woman was in court Tuesday after being accused of making bomb and shooting threats at First National Bank & Trust late Monday morning.

Heather Dabb was arraigned in Dickinson County 95B District Court on a charge of false report of a terroristic threat, according to a news release from Jeffery Solka, director of police and fire for the Iron Mountain Police Department.

Dabb’s bond was set at $50,000. The offense is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $20,000.

“The false report of an allegation of a terroristic threat refers to persons who either threaten to commit an act of terrorism or knowingly make a false report of such an act to another person.” Solka said in the press release. “This is an offense which is taken very seriously, particularly given the potential harm and disruption these claims can cause.”

The bank at 223 S. Stephenson Ave. in downtown Iron Mountain reported the threats at about 10 a.m. Monday. The building was evacuated and lockdown protocols were activated at FNB locations, which included offices in Kingsford and South.

First National Bank & Trust also closed all Dickinson County sites for the day.

The Iron Mountain Police Department was assisted by the Kingsford Department of Public Safety, the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department and Dispatch Center, the Michigan State Police and the Marquette FBI office.

IMPD is continuing its further investigation.
