1 dead after 2 cops shot, injured at mental health facility

UPDATE: November 6 at 19:00 (LEX 18)

The man who shot two officers in Bowling Green during a mental health crisis Wednesday morning was shot and killed during the incident, according to Kentucky State Police.

Two Bowling Green police officers responded to the call about a person having a mental health crisis, KSP reports. That individual became combative, attempting to disarm an officer and gaining control of a weapon, firing into the two’s directory.

One of the officers discharged his firearm, striking the individual, who suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both officers have now been released from hospital and the incident remains under investigation.
