Who Won Election Day in Shelby County? See all results

The Nov. 5 election is over, and while not everything is settled, Shelby County residents have a pretty good idea of ​​who will represent them at several levels of government going forward.

Here’s how things stood at the end of election day. Tuesday’s vote totals are unofficial until certified by local election authorities.

US House District 8

representative David Kustoffa Republican from Germantown, also cruised to victory for his seat in Tennessee House District 8. With 79 percent of the vote counted, Kustoff had a significant lead over Democratic challenger Sarah Freeman, who had about 73 percent of the vote.

US House District 9

Long time incumbent Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen once again secured his seat for Tennessee House District 9. With 60% of the vote counted, Cohen had won 70% of the vote, once again defeating Republican challenger Charlotte Bergman.

Tennessee Senate District 30

Longtime senator and incumbent Democratic Sen. Sara Kyle won her seat with 79 percent of the vote, defeating independent candidate Mitchell Morrison.

Tennessee Senate District 32

Republican incumbent Sen. Paul Rose faced no challenger in November, as no Democrats or independents qualified for the ballot.

Tennessee House District 83

Holder Rep. Republican Mark White secured victory with 58.3 percent of the vote, edging out Overton High Spanish teacher Noah Nordstrom.

Tennessee House District 84

Incumbent Democratic Rep. Joe Towns was retained his seat because no Republican or independent candidate qualified for the ballot.

Tennessee House District 85

Incumbent Democratic Rep. Jesse Chism retained his seat because he had no challengers.

Tennessee House District 86

Incumbent Democratic Rep. Justin J. Pearson he won handsomely re-elected in his seat with 76% of the vote. Independent candidate Jeff Johnson received 22% of the vote.

Tennessee House District 87

Incumbent Democratic Rep. Karen Camper ran unopposed and retained her seat.

Tennessee House District 88

Incumbent Democratic Representative Larry J. Miller won his seat solidly, receiving 71 percent of the vote.

Tennessee House District 91

Incumbent Democratic Representative Torrey C. Harris ran unopposed and retained his seat.

Tennessee House District 93

Incumbent Rep. GA Hardaway Sr. won against Republican challenger Renarda Renee Clariett.

Hardaway received 81% of the vote.

Tennessee House District 95

Republican Rep. Kevin Vaughan ran unopposed and kept his food.

Tennessee House District 96

Gabby Salinas won the crowded Democratic primary with about 43% of the vote, and Telisa Franklin voting behind with 41% of the votes cast.

No Republicans or independents qualified for the November ballot, so Salinas will represent the 96th District.

Tennessee House District 97

Republican Incumbent Representative John Gillespie won with 52% of the vote, defeating Democrat Jesse Huseth.

Tennessee House District 98

Incumbent Democratic Rep. Antonio Parkinson won his seat solidly against Cecil Hale.

Parkinson got 74% of the vote.

Tennessee House District 99

Incumbent Republican Representative Tom Leatherwood easily retained his seat, defeating independent candidate William Mouzon with 76 percent of the vote.

Memphis Referendum

From six referendum questions Memphis voters faced On Tuesday, all were approved by the electorate. These measures included several gun control measures (which will not be implemented without further state action), a requirement that Memphis mayoral and City Council candidates live in the city for at least two years, instituting runoff elections in the Memphis mayoral race and single-district Memphis City Council elections and giving the Memphis City Council the power to set salaries for itself, the city’s mayor and several high-level mayoral appointees.
