Caleb Williams has trouble with the latest Bears injury update

The Chicago Bears will look to get over .500 on Sunday when they take on the New England Patriots. However, Caleb Williams is likely to be without a key offensive protector.

Darnell Wright is is dealing with a knee injury and is listed weekly. By Jeremy Fowler:

“In injury news: Bears right tackle Darnell Wright is dealing with an MCL injury, per source. That could put him in the weekly bracket as Chicago prepares for the Patriots on Sunday.”

The Bears lost to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9 and they were already missing left tackle Braxton Jones. To make matters worse, Wright exited in the second half with said injury, which is a sprained MCL. Although the severity is not known now, it will surely waste some time. Not exactly ideal ahead of the Week 11 divisional game.

Chicago’s offensive line wasn’t great. Williams was sacked 3.8 times per game, which is second worst in the league. He doesn’t get the best coverage from his protectors, and it doesn’t help that two of them are out.

In all, Williams was sacked 29 times in his rookie campaign. The caller sprained his ankle in the loss to Arizona after Matt Eberflus sent him off late in the game. The Bears head coach faced heavy criticism for bringing the QB back into the contest despite the lopsided score.

But, Williams is expected to play Sunday, and despite a depleted O-line, Chicago should be able to pull out a win. The Patriots sit at 2-7 and have struggled mightily. This is an opportunity for the Bears to bounce back and gain some momentum before they face the Green Bay Packers on November 17th.

Overall, Williams completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 1,665 yards and nine touchdowns against five interceptions.

Sunday’s kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. PT at Soldier Field.
