Trump victory could overturn FDA, experts fear RFK Jr.’s role

With Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election, public health experts are anxiously waiting to see if his embrace of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will translate into real policy and perhaps chaos at the Food and Drug Administration — the regulatory authority tasked with to ensure that America’s medicines are effective and its foods are safe to eat.

In the weeks leading up to the election, Trump promised supporters that he would give RFK Jr. an important role in his administration and let him “getting wild” on health care.

In his victory speech, the president-elect checked Kennedy again. “It’s going to help make America healthy again,” Trump said. “He’s a great guy and really serious. He wants to do some things and we’ll let him go at them.”
