Actor Nivin Pauly gets a clean chit in a sexual assault case

In a massive relief for actor Nivin Pauly, the police team investigating a sexual assault complaint has given him a clean chit. However, the investigation against the other accused will continue.

Based on the investigation into the allegations, it was determined that Pauly was not present at the location at the exact time or date of the incident.

As a result, Pauly, the sixth accused in the case, was removed from the list of suspects, according to the report submitted by the DySP to the First Class Court in Kothamangalam, Ernakulam.

The complaint, dated August 6, 2024, was registered at the Oonnukal police station. The plaintiff alleges that Pauly and his PR team harassed her and her family, spreading false news and trying to discredit her with claims of a honey trap. The complainant, from Neriamangalam, claims that Pauly sexually assaulted her abroad on the pretext of offering her a film role.

However, Pauly denied the allegations and claimed that complaint against him for sexual harassment could be part of a conspiracy.

He also suggested that people from the Malayalam film industry could be behind the allegations. Nivin pointed these things out in an official complaint filed with the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) at the crime branch headquarters.

The controversy started after the release of the Hema Committee report, which prompted several actresses and others to level allegations against various actors and directors. Nivin Pauly’s name was included among the accused.

The charge against Nivin alleged that he sexually assaulted the complainant in a hotel room in Dubai after promising him a professional opportunity. Nivin immediately denied the allegation and announced plans to take legal action against the complainant. Following this, people including actor Vineeth Srinivasanactress Parvathy Krishna and Bhagath Manuel presented evidence challenging the claimant’s claims.
