TIVERTON, RI (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal has determined the cause Friday’s fire to be accidental.

The Tiverton Fire Department said several oxygen tanks that were on the premises on Fairfield Avenue exploded as a result of the fire.

An occupant of the home was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The department added that a tanker was needed to help extinguish the fire due to the lack of fire hydrants in the area.

According to the state fire marshal, the cause of the explosion was due to smoking near an oxygen source.
