Jasper County deputy arrested for driving with invalid license

The Texas Department of Public Safety has arrested a Jasper County Sheriff’s Office deputy for traffic violations, according to our media partner, KJAS.

According to DPS Sergeant Shana Clark, William Treadway, 28, of Jasper, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck and was pulled over by a state trooper shortly after 11:00 Saturday night when he allegedly failed to use a turn signal at the highway intersection. 96 on Lela Street in Jasper.

Clark said the trooper discovered that Treadway not only had a suspended driver’s license, but had several prior convictions for driving with an invalid license.

Sergeant Clark said the trooper filed and obtained an arrest warrant for Treadway, and he turned himself in to the Jasper County Jail on Tuesday and was booked on a Class B misdemeanor charge of driving while license invalid. He was later released on a personal recognizance bond set by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace John Cooper.

It has not been confirmed, but reliable sources say KJAS Treadway was the deputy who shot a man wielding a gun early Saturday morning at a home on Bon Ami Road, just north of Kirbyville. The man was hospitalized.
