Two arrested in Kuwait for human trafficking and selling visas

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5: The Hawalli Governorate’s Criminal Investigation Department recently arrested two people suspected of involvement in human trafficking and visa sales, as well as money laundering.

After extensive investigations, authorities uncovered a scheme in which the suspects allegedly brought expatriate workers to Kuwait by selling visas. However, these workers had no legitimate connection to the companies listed as sponsors. The arrests followed a period of close surveillance and intelligence-gathering, supported by reliable sources, that allowed authorities to obtain legal warrants.

During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to their role in the scheme. They have since been referred to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings. Officials are also working to identify and summon other accomplices involved in the operation.

In a public statement, the Ministry of the Interior reaffirmed its commitment to uphold the law and continue efforts to combat criminal activities. The ministry emphasized its determination to bring to justice all those involved in illegal activities, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring security and strengthening the rule of law in Kuwait.
